ATP Tournament Platform

The ATP Tournament Platform project aimed to create a flexible, modular system for ATP’s global tournaments. With hundreds of events each year, our goal was to build a design system that quickly adapts to any market, reduces rollout time, and lowers development costs.

Goals

  • Build a powerful, tennis-specific modular design system for tournament websites.

  • Accelerate delivery to reduce costs and launch new sites more quickly.

  • Ensure consistency while empowering smart local customisation.

Final Results

The platform gives tournament organisers an affordable, ready-to-use website solution for tennis events. Each module, including live scores, schedules, news, and ticketing, works smoothly across all sites, can be easily reused, and supports any tournament brand. This leads to consistent ATP sites worldwide and much faster rollouts.

Deliverables

  • Comprehensive design system and UI kit.

  • Reskinnable wireframe plug-and-play modular website.

  • Documentation for developers and event organisers.

Lessons Learnt

  • White-label design needs the right mix of flexibility and control. If the system is too strict, organisers may not use it. If it is too open, consistency is lost.

  • We saw that well-written documentation is critical, as clear guidance ensures organisers and developers can successfully use the system.

  • Focusing on the system as a whole, rather than just individual pages, is a mindset shift that leads to long-term success.

Next Steps

  • Expand the design system to encompass emerging needs, such as advanced functionality and interactive statistics.

  • Establish regular user feedback loops with tournament organisers to refine the platform to ensure continued growth.
